Plan a STAR Wars Birthday Party
Gather all your Star Wars fans and create a perfect birthday party featuring all the characters and movie favorites that little boys love.
Try on of these games!
Meteorite Shower
Kids will love this Star Wars birthday party game – guaranteed! Buy the smallest rubber super balls that you can find. Purchase some good-quality latex party balloons and a balloon pump (you’ll be glad you did!). Buy enough balloons and star wars superballs so that each child gets two – more is better, but two will work fine. Stretch the balloon at the top and insert the rubber ball into the balloon. Then pump in some air and you’ve got a crazy bouncing balloon. Put them in big garbage bags and tell the kids to form a large circle. Get in the middle and throw the balloons up into the air and tell them there is a meteorite shower and they need to pop them to get the prizes.
Galaxy Wars
If you have a large group of guests (especially a group of boys) , Galaxy Wars is a really fun game to play. Materials/Equipment:
- 20 foam balls (10 for each team) – make sure they are soft because they will be throwing them at each other.
- 25-30 hoola hoops per team. (each team will build three galaxies)
- 6 soft foam hockey sticks (3 per team) remember – soft because this game gets pretty fast-paced.
- CD Player and Star Wars music
Safety Precautions:
- Remind the children to keep their heads up, no sliding, and only carry one ball at a time.
Organization/Management: The two teams are set up on opposite sides. They have to build three Galaxies on their side of the room. The galaxy is a spherical structure made of 6 hoola hoops. Typically, there is one on the bottom, four in the middle and one pulled over the top to keep the sphere secure. Each team is comprised of 3 blockers (with foam hockey stick), builders and throwers. The challenge is for them to complete this task quickly while using their communication and teamwork skills. The idea is for each team to “battle” the opposing team. If all three galaxies are destroyed, that team has been defeated. They can rebuild the structure; however, if all three are down at the same time, it is over. They cannot throw at a galaxy that is being built back up again. When the music stops, the game stops and they ALL sit down. When done, just yell repeat and start again.
Shapeshifting In one Star Wars episode, one character was nearly killed by a creature that changed into different forms to hide its identity. In this Star Wars party game, players take on new identities and the sillier –the better. First, you’ll need several bags filled with the most flamboyant and outrageous pieces of clothing, accessories, and costume items that you have. If need be, borrow from friends or relatives – the sillier the better.Have the players stand in a circle. Play some Star Wars theme music and get the kids to pass around the bag(s). When the music stops, the player holding the bag must reach in, pull out a clothing item, and put it on. Keep playing until all the items are gone. Take photos of the children with their new identities and use them in your thank you cards. Make sure to give their new characters silly and funny names.
