Flip Flop Balloon Craft
Having a Pool or Outdoor Party?
This is a fun craft to make for older kids and tweens. Buy some inexpensive flip flops and tons of water balloons (not balloons filled with water, this is a size!)
It’s a great craft that will keep them busy and a great take home favor that they’ll enjoy wearing in the summer. The girls will use them all summer long to tote their beach stuff around and they’re really a steal at a little over a dollar each.
Directions:
- Take the water balloons and tie it around the thong part of the flip-flop. Start at the middle and go to the end of one side. Repeat to the other side.
- The little balloons are the perfect size, just tie in a knot and each girl has made their own island style flip-flop.
- Before the party, be sure to prepare a “take home bag” with each girl’s name on it so they can store their craft to take home!
BPK TIP: You can do the same craft with younger girls by substituting permanent markers and stick jewels to the sides of the soles, and wrapping brightly-colored embroidery thread around the foot straps (creating a friendship bracelet look)
