Bumble Bee Cake Idea

It’s easy to transform a round cake into a bumble bee! Use our template and directions below as your guide.

1.     Bake two 9-inch round cakes using either our chocolate cake recipe or our yellow cake recipe.
2.     Use our butter cream frosting recipe to make the frosting.
3.     Add 5-10 drops of yellow food coloring to the frosting.
4.     Using the yellow frosting, frost between the two cakes, as well as the sides and bottom of the cake.
5.     Use black icing to draw lines across the body of the bee. Then draw two eyes on the head.
6.     Place one large waffle cookie on each side of the cake (between the cake layers) to create the bee’s wings.
7.     Place two black licorice twists on the bee’s head to make the antennae.

Ice Cream Cake Recipe

Here are directions for making an easy and delicious ice cream cake. For this recipe you will need a
box of cake mix, a tub of whipped cream, a box of crumbled Oreo cookies and a carton of ice cream that comes in a rectangular container.

1. First, bake two 9″ x 13″ cakes with your favorite cake mix.
2. Let the cakes cool.
3. Remove the ice cream completely from the tub.
4. Slice the ice cream in half horizontally using fishing line or thread.
   Then, place the ice cream side by side on top of one layer of cake.
5. Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookie crumbs on top of the ice cream. Press
   down lightly on the crumbs so they go into the ice cream a bit.
6. Carefully place the other layer of cake on top of the layer of cookie
   crumbs.
7. Trim the cake so that it’s the same size as the ice cream.
8. Freeze the cake until it is very firm.
9. Before serving, frost the cake with whipped cream and decorate as you
   choose.
